Role Purpose
The Maintenance Planner - Packaging is a critical role responsible for managing maintenance systems, ensuring effective spares management, developing routine and planned maintenance schedules, and providing hands-on support to the maintenance teams. This role also ensures compliance with all necessary Permit-to-Work requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning:
- Lead and facilitate pre-maintenance planning meetings, identifying required work, resource needs, and potential challenges.
- Develop comprehensive planned maintenance schedules, incorporating both routine tasks and ad hoc work requests.
- Determine and allocate resources, collaborating with departmental heads to ensure tasks are adequately staffed.
- Support the maintenance team during planned periods by aiding in problem-solving, task prioritization, and resource reallocation.
- Reschedule incomplete tasks for the next maintenance period and document all outcomes in the maintenance systems.
- Facilitate post-maintenance evaluations to identify problems, opportunities, and lessons learned.
Problem Solving:
- Use structured problem-solving approaches to address issues arising during maintenance activities.
- Engage additional resources or escalate challenges to engineering teams when necessary.
- Act as a functional expert during Failure Focused Analysis (FFA) sessions.
- Ensure asset care work is completed to the highest standards, including compliance with maintenance and cleaning schedules.
- Optimize the use of spares to support the asset care program within budget constraints.
- Analyze SAP maintenance systems to identify recurring issues and recommend schedule enhancements.
- Coordinate resource allocation for artisans and machine specialists during key maintenance periods.

- In-depth knowledge of packaging equipment and processes.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years in Production Engineering.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid experience with SAP maintenance systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of maintenance processes and practices.
