Position: Project Driver

UMATI, established in 1959, is a national NGO with a mission to provide Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) education and services in Tanzania. As a key partner with the Ministry of Health and other organizations, UMATI has been a pioneer in Family Planning and SRHR programs. The organization is currently seeking a qualified Project Driver to support its projects in the Dodoma region.
Job Purpose:
The Project Driver will be responsible for safely transporting staff, clients, and project materials, ensuring the vehicle is well-maintained, and following all traffic laws. The role also involves performing vehicle inspections, keeping records, and ensuring timely delivery of documents or materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow designated routes and adjust based on road conditions or traffic.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers or secure transport of project materials.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and report any technical issues.
- Drive staff involved in official activities to various destinations.
- Transport and deliver clients and packages to designated locations.
- Plan for potential delays due to traffic or weather conditions.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, ensure it is fueled, and arrange repairs as needed.
- Record all movements in the vehicle log book daily.
- Dispatch letters and other documents as directed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and follow all traffic regulations.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Certificate of Secondary School Education form(iv)
