Role Purpose:

The Specialist 1 - LAS will be responsible for supervising and reconciling fuel delivery and dispensing to ensure proper fuel management and to mitigate risks of fuel theft. They will also investigate discrepancies and implement action plans to prevent future occurrences.

Qualifications Required:

  • Advanced Certificate in secondary education, Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Valid Tanzanian driving license with experience in driving manual transmission vehicles.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of security-related experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Investigate and file complaints against employees or contractors involved in fuel theft.
  • Conduct daily fuel reconciliations for heavy mining equipment (HME) and light mining equipment (LME).
  • Monitor diesel supply to vehicles and reconcile fuel sheets, vouchers, and dockets with LAS (Logistics Application System).
  • Investigate fuel discrepancies and theft, conducting field inspections for vulnerable equipment.
  • Liaise with HME/LME management on fuel theft mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on fuel losses and usage, and submit reports to the Hydrocarbon Superintendent and other relevant departments.
  • Supervise and train subordinates on fuel reconciliation duties, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies.
  • Attend disciplinary hearings and court sessions related to fuel theft.
  • Conduct audits and participate in internal and external audits related to fuel management.

Additional Requirements:

  • Good analytical and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and propose multiple solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and investigation skills.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
