About the Role
Shadows of Africa is searching for an experienced and passionate Safari Guide/Driver to lead unforgettable wildlife adventures in Northern Tanzania’s iconic national parks. This role is ideal for an individual with extensive guiding experience, a deep knowledge of East African wildlife, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities

Lead insightful and engaging safari tours, sharing knowledge about wildlife, landscapes, and local cultures.

Safely operate and maintain 4x4 safari vehicles, ensuring guest comfort and security on rugged terrain.

Plan and conduct game drives tailored to guest preferences while following park regulations.

Educate guests on conservation efforts and promote ethical wildlife interactions.

Assist guests with wildlife photography and tracking techniques.

Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report major mechanical issues.

Provide first aid in emergencies and ensure the safety of all passengers.

Create a welcoming and informative atmosphere for a memorable safari experience.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience as a Safari Guide/Driver in Northern Tanzania.

A valid Tanzanian driving license (Category C) with Defensive Driving certification.

Certification from Tanzania Tour Guides Association (TTGA) or an equivalent body (preferred).

Strong expertise in East African wildlife, ecosystems, and bird identification.

Excellent English communication skills; additional languages (French, German, or Spanish) are a plus.

Valid First Aid and CPR certification.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a professional approach to guest concerns.

Physically fit and able to work long hours in outdoor environments.

Experience guiding VIP and international clients.
