Currently, the organization is executing the RESOLVE-NbS project, which targets climate change resilience through nature-based solutions in Morogoro and Iringa regions.
About the Role
As a Driver/Logistics Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of project activities by providing transportation and logistical support. You will also contribute to maintaining office operations and supporting fieldwork logistics, ensuring the project’s success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Transport and Logistics Support
- Provide transportation services for project staff, partners, and stakeholders.
- Schedule and manage transportation requests using planning tools like Outlook Calendar.
- Deliver payments, conduct cash purchases for office supplies, and manage mail distribution.
- Assist with visitor and staff transportation to and from airports or project sites.
- Coordinate and manage vehicle usage for field trips and site visits.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Compliance
- Maintain detailed vehicle records, including daily logs of movements and tasks.
- Ensure the safety of vehicles and accessories at all times.
- Facilitate routine maintenance, repairs, and timely insurance renewals for office vehicles.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and IUCN guidelines for vehicle usage.
3. Office Support
- Assist in planning and executing fieldwork and other project-related activities.
- Support office operations, including photocopying and maintaining an organized workspace.
- Act as a backup for the Project Administrator, managing visitor registration and office calls.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the project team.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Ordinary-Level Secondary School Certificate.
- Certified driving training from NIT or VETA.
- Defensive driving skills certification.
Experience
- At least 5 years of continuous driving experience in a reputable organization.
- Excellent knowledge of urban and rural road networks.
- Proficiency in managing time and multitasking under pressure.
- Proven record of safe driving, with no major traffic violations or accidents.
- Experience driving manual transmission vehicles.
Skills
- Fluency in English and Swahili (written and spoken).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multi-stakeholder environment.
