About the Role
The Regional Agribusiness Manager will play a key role in securing sustainable raw material sourcing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building strategic relationships with stakeholders. By combining expertise in agriculture and business management, this role is critical to maintaining SBL’s competitiveness in a rapidly evolving industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute effective sourcing and category management strategies.
- Ensure timely and quality supply of local raw materials in a cost-effective manner.
- Analyze procurement costs and identify productivity opportunities.
- Research market dynamics to anticipate changes in supplier power and negotiate profitable long-term agreements.
- Mitigate sourcing risks across short, medium, and long-term horizons.
- Build partnerships with reliable vendors, including initiatives to empower and develop suppliers.
- Deploy digital farming platforms to enhance traceability and ensure accurate record-keeping for smallholder farmers.
- Lead in-country regenerative agriculture projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Organize farmer engagement initiatives, including workshops, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training, and field visits to equip farmers for profitability.
- Monitor and report agribusiness operations to key stakeholders.
- Map stakeholders and implement robust engagement strategies to strengthen relationships.
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences, with added expertise in agribusiness management.
- A master’s degree is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong business acumen and agility to adapt in dynamic environments.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders across various levels.
- In-depth knowledge of agricultural value chains, agribusiness financing, and Climate-Smart Agriculture practices in Tanzania.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
- Experience in farmer engagement, training, and capacity building.
