Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Librarian who is:
- Detail-oriented and loves working with students and staff to efficiently manage and organize library resources.
- Able to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment while promoting literacy among students.
- Experienced in managing library systems, book inventories, and able to support school events, collaborate with teachers, and organize library activities.
- A strong communicator who can inspire students to engage with reading, research, and information gathering.
- Committed to academic excellence, encouraging students to explore new ideas and foster a lifelong love for learning.
Key Requirements:
- Tanzanian nationality with a Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science or a related field from an accredited university within East Africa.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in library management, preferably in an educational institution.
- Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in modern library systems including Oliver Management System, Digital Libraries, DDS, and stocktaking.
- Organized, reliable, and punctual with the ability to lead and write library procedures.
- A vibrant and approachable personality that fosters a love for reading and learning among students.
- Competent female candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to adapt to school policies and procedures, including working on weekends when required.
