The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project is a major midstream development project that stretches across Uganda and Tanzania. With the pipeline running 1,443 km from Hoima in Uganda to the Chongoleani Peninsula near Tanga Port in Tanzania, EACOP offers numerous opportunities to work on one of the region’s most significant infrastructure projects. This includes new roles for Security Advisors, offering the chance to work in a dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Job Title: Security Advisors (2 Positions – Field-Based)

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: Along the EACOP Pipeline Route
  • Reporting to: Construction Security Lead and Security Manager

These positions are field-based and integral to ensuring that the security infrastructure and plans are robust and effective across EACOP’s construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

As a Security Advisor for the EACOP project, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of project sites, personnel, and assets. You will work closely with the Lot 2 & 3 Construction Security Lead and the EACOP Security Manager to implement and oversee security plans at various locations. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting risk assessments and audits of contractors' security measures.
  • Monitoring contractors’ security providers and ensuring compliance with EACOP's security standards.
  • Assisting in the review of security plans and key performance indicators (KPIs) for contractors.
  • Responding to security incidents and working with senior management to address potential threats.
  • Conducting regular security training and audits to maintain high standards across all project sites.
  • Promoting EACOP’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and ensuring that security measures align with the project’s ethical standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree in security, risk management, or related fields.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in security or emergency management. Experience in large infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Additional Requirements: Integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English is mandatory.
