Are you an experienced driver looking to make a meaningful impact in Tanzania’s forestry and value chain development? FORLAND / NIRAS Tanzania is seeking 10 skilled and responsible drivers to support our Forestry, Land Use, and Value Chain Development (FORLAND) Project—a transformative four-year initiative (2025-2029) between the governments of Finland and Tanzania.
About FORLAND Project
📍 Operating in Iringa, Njombe, Ruvuma, and Lindi regions, FORLAND promotes sustainable forest management, smallholder plantation growth, and value chain development. Our mission is to empower local communities, strengthen climate resilience, and create job opportunities in Tanzania’s forestry sector.
🛠️ As a FORLAND Project Driver, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth transportation for project activities, staff, and stakeholders across different regions.
Key Responsibilities
🚗 Safely operate assigned vehicles, ensuring compliance with defensive driving practices.
📍 Plan and follow the most efficient routes using maps and road signs.
🛠️ Conduct minor vehicle maintenance and ensure all equipment (jack, spanner, spare tire, etc.) is available and in good condition.
⛽ Maintain accurate records of fuel usage, maintenance, trip logs, accident reports, and incident documentation.
💼 Assist with office-related tasks such as purchasing, deliveries, and running errands.
👥 Provide courteous assistance to passengers, including individuals with special needs.
⚙️ Schedule and coordinate major vehicle maintenance with management to minimize service disruptions.
✅ Ensure vehicle cleanliness, both inside and outside, at all times.
Who Are We Looking For?
✔️ Education & Certification:

Form IV Certificate
-
Completed a Basic Driving Course (VETA or another recognized institution)
-
Valid Class C1 or E Driving License
✔️ Experience & Skills:
-
At least two (2) years of professional driving experience without causing an accident.

Good communication skills in both English and Swahili.

Good eyesight and general health to ensure safe driving.

Highly responsible, reliable, and committed to safety and efficiency.
Position Details
📅 Contract Length: 38 months (across project regions)
📍 Work Locations: Iringa, Njombe, Ruvuma, and Lindi
🚀 Start Date: April 2025
