Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable communities in Tanzania? The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer role at SHDEPHA+ is an incredible opportunity to contribute to the DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe) initiative, which supports girls and young women. If you're interested in data-driven development and working on critical health projects, this role could be perfect for you!

What is SHDEPHA+?

SHDEPHA+ is a well-established national NGO in Tanzania, originally focused on helping people living with HIV/AIDS. Over time, they have expanded their mission to include broader development interventions such as poverty reduction, health, education, and more. They have branches in 10 regions, working with marginalized and vulnerable populations across the country.

What Does the M&E Officer Do?

As an M&E Officer, you'll play a critical role in overseeing and supporting all monitoring and evaluation activities for the DREAMS project. This involves managing databases, collecting and analyzing data, and ensuring that the project meets its goals through regular monitoring and reporting. You'll work with various stakeholders, including government bodies, community partners, and SHDEPHA+ staff, to maintain high standards of data quality and use this information for better decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Management: You'll work with databases such as DHIS2 and others to store and analyze project data.
  2. Reporting: Regularly prepare reports on project progress, including weekly, monthly, and annual updates.
  3. Site Visits: Conduct monitoring visits to ensure data quality and assess project implementation.
  4. Problem-Solving: Identify challenges in project execution and propose solutions based on data analysis.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with the DREAMS technical team and various partners to ensure the project runs smoothly.

Who Should Apply?

This role requires someone with a degree in Social Science, Computer Science, or related fields, and at least 3-5 years of experience in M&E, preferably within USAID or PEPFAR-funded projects. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in data management systems and tools.

If you have a passion for using data to drive positive social change and are committed to improving the lives of vulnerable populations, this job could be an excellent match for you. Be sure to send your application by the deadline, November 2, 2024!
