Overview:
HJFMRI is looking for a District Program Lead to oversee the implementation of its PEPFAR HIV Program in the respective district council. The successful candidate will manage health programs, offer mentorship and supervision, and ensure quality HIV/AIDS services are delivered according to guidelines set by PEPFAR, Tanzania’s Ministry of Health, and HJFMRI policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day implementation of the HJFMRI PEPFAR HIV Program.
- Develop annual work plans and ensure proper resource allocation.
- Monitor performance, track program progress, and make necessary adjustments.
- Coordinate regular review meetings at the district level and support the establishment of quality improvement teams.
- Ensure the availability of HIV commodities and collaborate with district health teams.
- Provide capacity-building programs, conduct mentorship and technical assistance visits, and ensure proper documentation and reporting of program indicators.
- Liaise with various stakeholders to address challenges in HIV care and treatment.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree required.
- Postgraduate training in Public Health, Internal Medicine, or Infectious Diseases preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in HIV/AIDS programs in Africa, with a preference for experience working with PEPFAR.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzania’s health policies and the ability to write technical documents.
- Ability to travel frequently (up to 70%) to supported health facilities.
Skills Required:
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Fluent in both Kiswahili and English.
